Arathi Basin All-Star
Assault and Defend 2 bases in a
single Arathi Basin match.
Tips: Assaulting a base or 2 can be a lot
easier than defending bases. You can assault a base that is
neutral (not owned by either team) or a base that is owned by the
enemy. However, you can only defend a base that your team owns
but the enemy team has assaulted.
If one of your team's
bases gets assaulted by the enemy, you have one minute to defend it.
If you are unable to defend the node within the one minute, the node
is considered captured and the enemy will have control of it.
You will more than likely start out by assaulting bases because
there will be no bases to defend at the beginning of a match.
You may want to attempt to run directly toward the closest flag or,
if you see that it is already being assaulted, run to another one.
Your sole focus should be on clicking the flag and just allow your
teammates to battle with the enemy.
If you are unable to
immediately assault a base, keep in mind that you can do this at any
time during the game. Keep an eye out for enemy bases that
have no defenders or for bases in which your team is attempting to
attack or zerg. In either situation, always focus on
assaulting the flag.
Defending bases is slightly more
difficult than assaulting. For one thing, you will only have
one minute to get the the base and successfully click the flag
before it is considered captured by the enemy. As well, you
will need to be close enough to have time to run to the base.
So, for instance, if you are at Gold Mine and the enemy assaults the
Lumber Mill, you may not have enough time to run there and defend
it. Even if you are close enough the enemy may outnumber you
at the base so you would have to wait for help. You should
check your map often and pay very close attention for when your
team's base are assaulted so that you can head directly there and
attempt to defend it.
One trick for this achievement is to
choose a bases that your team currently owns and find a place to
hide. If you are at Lumber Mill, you can hide behind the mill.
If you are at Gold Mine you can hide up top on the mound behind the
mine. This way, the enemy may perceive the base as empty.
Wait for an enemy player or players to come and assault the base.
If you don't think you can take them on yourself, yell "incoming" as
you see the enemy approach. This will hopefully give you
enough time to get backup before the enemy gains control of the
base. Otherwise, you can kill the enemy yourself and defend
the base. Rinse and repeat. If you have a friend with
you, you can take turns helping one another.

Arathi Basin Assassin
Get five honorable kills at each of
the bases in a single Arathi Basin battle.
Tips: To get an honorable kill, you do
not have to personally get the killing blow, nor do damage to the
player. You simply have to be close enough when an enemy
player is killed by your team.
To get five honorable kills at
each base you will need to travel to each base at different times
during the match. You will initially run to a particular base
with members of your team to assault it. Typically, your
teammates will choose more than one base to initially assault.
Just try to stick with the largest group of people if possible.
Likely, members of the enemy team will also assault bases in groups
so your initial attack on a base may get you five honorable kills
right away. This will allow you to leave that base quickly and
move on to the next.
Remember that you will need 5
honorable kills at each base, so the bases that have the largest
number of enemy players will likely result in obtaining your kills
quicker. You should attempt to run as a group when assaulting
bases as opposed to attacking bases that are more or less barren or
with a single defender. You can also sit at a base and wait
for it to be assaulted. However, you will probably want backup
for this, especially if multiple enemy players are approaching.

Arathi Basin Perfection
Win Arathi Basin with a score of
1600 to 0.
Tips: To obtain this achievement, your
team cannot allow the enemy to gain control of any of the bases.
It is okay if the enemy assaults a base, you will just have to
defend it or assault it before the one minute timer runs out and the
enemy gains control of it.
You are going to want
to get to the opposite side of the map as quickly as possible once
the match begins to get to the furthest base from you starting
point, and the base closest to the enemy starting point.
Alliance will want to get to the Farm and horde will want to get to
the Stables. It doesn't matter too much which direction you
choose to take, although it is always best to stay in a group as
much as possible. If your team is assaulting bases such as the
Lumber Mill or Goldmine, you can run there with your teammates and,
instead of stopping to fight, continue through to your destination
base.
Often, at the beginning of a match, teams will not leave
much defense at their original base. So alliance players that
are attacking Farm or horde players that are attacking the Stables,
may only find one lone defender. This is because ,teams
are often playing much more offensively at the start of a match and
attempting to assault other bases.
As with many achievements, the better the
coordination and skill of your teammates, the higher your chances of
obtaining this are.

Disgracin' The Basin
Assault 3 bases in a single Arathi
Basin battle.
Tips: You are able to assault either
neutral bases or enemy owned bases. Defending a flag after an
enemy has assaulted will only count as a defended base, not an
assaulted base.
Your main focus for the match should be on
assaulting bases or clicking on the flag. If running as a
group, allow your teammates to battle with the enemy while you click
on the flag. Even if you are being hit, as long as you are not
dying, continue to click the flag.
This may be most
difficult at the beginning of a match even though all of the bases
are neutral. This is because a lot of players will be
attempting to assault the bases. You essentially just have to
be the first one there to click.
Check the map often
for possible bases to assault. If you see that an enemy bases
is empty or barely guarded you can attempt to assault it yourself.
If you are a stealth class you may be able to get to the flag
undetected and even assault it without being noticed. If you
see a group of your teammates going to assault a base, run with them
and focus on clicking the flag.

Knight of Arathor
Gain exalted reputation with The
League of Arathor.
Tips: This is a horde only achievement and the
horde equivalent is The Defiler.
You must compete in Arathi
Basin battlegrounds in order to obtain exalted status and get the
achievement.
You receive 10 reputation for
every 160 resources gained in a match. So at 480 resources
9regardless of the enemy's score), you will have
gained 30 reputation. This is equal to 100 reputation if you win
the game. You will need to win 320 matches, excluding matches
during the battleground holiday, to become exalted with your particular
faction. Playing Arathi Basin matches during the holiday will
grant you 10 reputation for every 150 resources for a total of 130
reputation for each win.

Let's Get This Done
Win Arathi Basin in 6 minutes.
Tips: This achievement can be completed
in either a pre-made group or a pug. This achievement is
obtained when you play rather offensively right from the beginning
of the game. You will want to capture and control as many
bases as possible as quickly as possible.
Although you
will be playing mostly offensively, you still may want to keep a
couple of players on defense to protect the bases you have already
assaulted, as you will not gather resources for bases that are lost.
However, you will want to focus mainly on assaulting bases that your
team does not yet control. Stick in groups but spread out
enough that there are players on either side of the map, if possible
(some on the Lumber Mill side and some on the Goldmine side).
Players should respond when someone yells "incoming," but only
enough that is necessary for the situation. If you are able to
capture all 5 bases, attempt to camp the enemy at their starting
point (Horde start at Defiler's Den and Alliance start at Trollbane)
so they do not have an opportunity to leave an assault bases.
The game will go rather quickly if one team controls all 5 bases.

Me and the Cappin' Makin' it Happen
Take 50 flags in Arathi Basin.
Tips: You receive credit for assaulting
any base that it either neutral or under the enemy's control.
Remember that you must personally assault the base for it to count
and it does not count if one of your teammates assaults the base.
To assault a base, you run up to the base's flag and click on it.
There is a capture timer of 8 seconds in which you cannot be
interrupted or you will have to start over (click on it again).
If you are solely looking to obtain this achievement, focus on
assaulting bases rather than defending bases or even winning the
game.

Overly Defensive
Defend 3 bases in a single Arathi
Basin battle.
Tips: This achievement is similar to
other AB achievements in which you have to defend bases. However,
with this achievement, you will need to defend 3 within one game.
It can be difficult enough to defend just one let alone three.
You have one minute from the time an enemy assaults on of your bases
to defend it. Your team must have full control of a base for
an enemy to assault it and it to count as a defense should you
regain control of the base.
Keep in mind that you will have to personally click on a base's flag
to defend it and it does not count if a member of your team does it.
For this particular achievement, you may want to focus on a specific
area or section of the map. For instance, if your team control
Lumber Mill, keep an eye on the Stables, the Farm, or the Blacksmith
to get assaulted so that you can get there quickly to defend it.
If a base is far from you (such as Goldmine is from Lumber Mill) you
will probably not get there in enough time to defend it.
Running all over the map may waste time even if you are tempted to
defend a base that is far from you.
Lumber Mill is a good
base to own as you can see much of the map from the top of the hill.
You are also able to get to most of the other bases in a
timely fashion. Blacksmith is also a nice base to control
because it is control. however, Blacksmith is often under
constant attack and can be attacked from any angle.
Regardless of what base you camp at, attempt to hide yourself so
that you may lure an enemy to attack it. This will give you an
opportunity to defend a base that is close. Hopefully, only
one enemy will arrive and you can allow them to assault the base
before you kill them and defend it. Otherwise, if you think
you may not be able to take on the enemy, yell "incoming" and
attempt to defend it while your teammates battle the enemy.

Resilient Victory
Overcome a 500 resource
disadvantage in a match of Arathi Basin and claim victory.
Tips: This achievement is often done in a
pre-made fashion but it can be done in pug groups as well.
If
done in a pre-made group, you would sit back for the first part of
the game and allow the enemy to gain control of some of the bases.
You may want to avoid a 5-cap, however, as this could make the game
go too fast for your team to be able to catch up. Try to
capture and control one base while allowing the enemy to gain
control of the rest.
When the enemy is close to being 500
resources higher than your team, you can launch a full out assault
on all of the bases. Remember not to do this too quickly
because the enemy still has to have 500 resources more than you
before you can start to catch up and overtake them.
You can
have stealth classes go to the bases that is furthest from your team
as they can typically get very close without being detected and
drawing backup. As well, bases that are furthest away from
your team will most likely be less defended than others as the enemy
is not expecting it to be assaulted. In the meantime, travel
in groups to attack the other remaining bases while, preferably,
leaving a player behind to defend the base(s) you already control.

You receive 10 reputation for
every 160 resources gained in a match. So at 480 resources

To The Rescue!
Come to the defense of a base in
Arathi Basin 50 times by recapping the flag.
Tips: This achievement is similar to any
AB Achievement in which you have to defend bases. You have to
wait for an enemy to assault a base that your team has control of and get there
quick enough to defend it, within one minute of the enemy assaulting
it.
You can attempt the trick of hiding near a base
that your team owns and waiting for an enemy to arrive. If
there is more than one or you don't think you can take on the enemy
alone, yell out "incoming" and wait for some of your teammates to
arrive. When your teammates are close enough, aim for the flag
and attempt to defend it. Allow your teammates to battle the
enemy if possible while you concentrate on the flag. Likewise,
if you are able to take on the enemy alone, just wait for them to
assault the base, kill them, and defend the flag.
You may
have to play a lot of AB matches in order to get this achievement.
You may find that you go several matches without defending a single
base. You may also find that this achievement goes quickly.
You will get better at it with more practice. It will also go
quicker the more you focus on defending bases rather than winning
the match.

We Had It All Along *cough*
Win Arathi Basin by 10 points (1590
to 1600).
Tips: It is more or less impossible to prepare
for this achievement before the battleground begins. You will
need to get fairly lucky to land this achievement, although your
chances are actually slightly higher with a pre-made group or a
group that you find willing to cooperate. This is because, if
you calculate the score well enough towards the end of a match, you
may be able to determine how many bases you will need to hold on to
and let go of to earn a score of 1590/1600.
For
instance, if your team currently has a score of 1900 and the enemy
team has a score of 1870, you may suggest purposely losing a node so
that the enemy may capture it and catch up in points, granted your
team currently owns the majority of nodes. So if your team
owned 3 or 4 nodes and the enemy owned 1 or 2, you can attempt to
lose one or two (you will have to do the estimating in your game as
each scenario could be different).
If it is near the end of a
match and the teams are very close in score, it is easier to
determine whether or not you need to lose a node or two, or do what
you can to capture a node or two.
