Sample Match Strategies
General Game Play:
There is a lot of detail in Alterac Valley and it is slightly more complicated
than most other battlegrounds. However, it can be won quite simply without
using many mechanics or strategies. Teams win AV by causing the opposing
team to run out of resources or by killing the opposing team's General.
There are several ways in which to cause the enemy team to lose resources and
there are also ways to make it easier for your team to kill the enemy General.
Overall, there are many ways that AV can be played.
Playing Defense:
Generally speaking, if you
are playing defensively you will be either south of the Field of Strife (if you
are horde) or north of the Field of Strife 9if you are alliance). This is
because the horde's towers are located in the southern half of the battleground
while the alliance's are located in the northern half. As a defensive
player you will be attempting to recapture or defend your team's towers if they
are assaulted by the enemy.
