How to Win Eye of the Storm:
To win Eye of the Storm your
team needs to be the first to gain 1600 points. This is done by
capturing and holding the towers and ruins, (Blood Elf Tower, Mage
Tower, Draenei Ruins, Fel Reaver Ruins) and running the flag.
Running the flag is not as necessary as controlling towers is, but will
help your team to earn extra points and plays a major role in winning a
match. As well, the more towers that
are controlled by your team when a player from your team captures the
flag, the more points you will get for the flag capture. This is
detailed more below.
The game begins with players trapped within a bubble on elevated land.
Players who are not careful jumping off once the game begins can take a
lot of damage.

Like all battlegrounds, teams begin at opposite
sides of the map. The alliance will begin nearest the Mage Tower
and Draenei Ruins while the horde will begin nearest Fel Reaver Ruins
and Blood Elf Tower. The flag is situated directly in the middle of
the map with voids on either side. Players can fall into the void
or be knocked into the void by other players. Landing in the void
will result in death.
When the game begins all of the nodes as
well as the flag are neutral. Players must attack nodes in order
to capture them and have them collect points. To run the flag,
the flag carrier must grab it from the flag spawn and run it
to a base that is owned by his or her team. Capturing bases and
running the flag both result in point gains.

Towers and Ruins:
Eye of the Storm has 2 towers, Mage
Tower and Blood Elf Tower, and 2 ruins, Draenei Ruins and Fel Reaver
Ruins. To capture a node, players simply have to stand on them.
The more players there are on the node, the faster it will capture (this
counts for up to 5 players).
You should see a capture bar on your screen that will move in a
particular direction depending on which team is attacking and capturing
the node.
Towers can be in any of these states at any time:
Neutral: Not
owned or captured by either team
Friendly:
Owned by your team
Hostile:
Owned by the enemy team

The points gained are based on the number
of towers controlled and for the length of time in which they remain
controlled.
The calculation of points for towers
controlled are as follows:
1 tower controlled = 1 point every
second
2 towers controlled = 2 points every second
3 towers
controlled = 5 points every second
4 towers controlled = 10 points
every second

The Flag:
There is only one flag in
Eye of the Storm that each team can attempt to capture. The flag
is located in the center of the battleground. The flag can
be taken by clicking on it at which point an 8 second timer will start.
After the 8 second timer is up (clicking on the flag for 8 seconds
without being interrupted) the player will have possession of the flag and
can run it to a base to capture it. The flag carrier must run the
flag to a node that is owned by his or her team to be able to capture it.
The amount of points awarded for flag captures is based on the
number of nodes owned by the team capturing the flag.
The
number of points gained per flag capture are as follows:
- 75
points with 1 node owned
- 85 points with 2 nodes owned
- 100
points with 3 nodes owned
- 500 points with 4 nodes owned
When Should I Capture the Flag?
Although you can
capture the flag at any time at a node that is controlled by your team,
there are times in which it is better to capture the flag and time in
which it is better to hold on to the flag and wait to capture it.
The more nodes your team controls
at the time you capture the flag, the more points you will get for the
capture. Therefore, attempt to capture the flag when your team
controls 2 or 3 nodes. If
you see that your team is about to capture a node, wait until they
capture it.
Unless you are
being attacked and risk dropping
the flag, try not to capture it unless your team has control of the
middle (there are more players from your team at the flag spawn than
enemy players).

Bonus Buffs:
There is one bonus buff located at each of the 4 nodes. The buff
is located inside of Mage Tower and Blood Elf Tower and near the center
of Draenei Ruins and Fel Reaver Ruins.
the restoration buff restores health and mana.

the berserking buff increases damage dealt by 30%, damage taken by
10%, and slightly increases your size for 1 minute

the speed buff increases your speed by 100% for 10 seconds
Which Bonus Buffs should I use?
You shouldn't
necessarily take a bonus buff just because it's there. Buffs have
specific purposes and are not beneficial to everyone. You do want
to prevent the enemy from using as many bonus buffs as possible.
Even if you don't need the buff, you may want to take it if there's a
risk the enemy might take it.
Speed
Buff: Can be used by anyone. Beneficial if you are being
chased in combat or attempting to chase someone else. Can be used
to get to another location faster. You can also take this buff in
hopes that another, more beneficial buff appears next.
Restoration/ Rejuve Buff: Take this buff if you are low on
health or mana. Very beneficial buff for healers, especially
during long battles. If you're a healer involved in a long battle
(i.e. defending a node with several teammates), try to stand near the
bonus buff spawn point to quickly grab it when running out of mana.
Attempt to keep the enemy from using this bonus buff.
Berserker Buff: This buff should be taken by damage-dealing
(dps) players and not healers. Take this buff whenever you are in
battle with enemy players or if you are planning on immediately engaging
in battle (i.e. zerging a node). Keep in mind you also take damage
with this buff on. Attempt to keep the enemy from getting this
buff and steer clear of enemies that do have it.

points (for games played outside of the battleground holiday).
