General Game Play:
Somewhat similar
to the Alterac Valley styled battleground, Isle of Conquest is based on
the capturing of nodes, killing of the enemy general, and protection of
resources. Teams attempt to kill the enemy general or cause the
other team to run out of resources.
Playing Defense:
Playing defense in
Isle of Conquest means that you will be inside or near your team's Keep.
You attempt to stop the enemy from attacking the Keep by disarming bombs
(inside and outside of the gate), using the turrets, and destroying
vehicles.
Turrets are useful for damaging vehicles and players
that are attacking your gate from the outside. If the enemy team
is inside of your gate running bombs then you will need enough players
on your team to help defend so that you are not outnumbered.

Playing Offense:
Playing offense
means that you will be attacking the enemy's Keep and attempting to
assault and capture resource nodes.

When to Call for Backup:
Isle of
Conquest is a very large battleground so it can often be difficult to
receive help when needed if players aren't near to you. However,
it is still important to communicate well. Players will want to
call out if one of their team's resource nodes is under attack such as
the Hangar, Docks, or Workshop. It is usually just a random player
that attacks the Quarry or Refinery.
Defending players will want
to call out if the Keep is under attack or has been breached and they
cannot take care of the enemies themselves. As well, players will
ask for assistance in keeping vehicles safe, particularly the glaive
throwers because they cause a lot of damage and are easily destroyed by
enemy players.

Sample Match Strategies:
Sample Strategy 1:
Your team should choose only one gate to destroy
so that all of your efforts are focused on one gate and it takes more
damage. A couple of players can be selected to capture the
Refinery and the Quarry as these nodes would provide a buff for for
vehicles.
Groups 1-4: Go to Vehicle Workshop and capture it.
Players will wait for vehicles to become available and run bombs while
they are not in vehicles.
Groups 5-8: Go to the Docks and capture it.
Wait for vehicles
to become available and drive them up to the wall with players running
alongside to defend the vehicles. Use the glaive throwers to
attack the chosen gate.
Once all vehicles are attacking the gate,
players should continuously run seaforium bombs. However, ensure
that your vehicles are protected by enough players at all times.
If there are not many enemy players defending the Keep, several players
from your team can use the catapults to launch themselves into the enemy
base and run Huge Seaforium bombs to the gate. The piles of bombs
within the Keep are much closer to the gate than the ones located at the
Vehicle Workshop.
Sample Strategy 2:
Your team should
choose only one gate to destroy so that all of your efforts are focused
on one gate and it takes more damage.
All Groups: Go to
the Docks, capture the Docks and defend. Prepare for a zerg from
the enemy team that likely took Workshop and is headed to the Docks.
There will likely be a large group that you will initially fight at the
Docks followed by a second zerg of enemy players that went elsewhere
first. Often, the enemy will wait for the Docks to be captured and
zerg it shortly after assuming that most players will not be staying
back to defend it. Ensure your team has enough players at the
Docks to knock off the first two waves of enemy players at least.
The goal is to have the enemy control the Workshop while your team
controls the Docks. Your team does not have to maintain control of
the Docks for the duration of the battle (though it wouldn't hurt), just
for the beginning and long enough to drive the vehicles up to the enemy
base.
Groups 1-2: Grab all six vehicles once they become
available (4 catapults, 2 glaive throwers). The four players
not driving a vehicle will run alongside of them to help protect them.
Head towards the enemy gate. The players driving the
catapults will launch themselves into the enemy fortress. These
players will run bombs to the gate. The players driving the glaive
throwers and the players running alongside protecting them will stay
outside of the fortress and shoot at the same gate that is being bombed
by the players inside. If the glaives get destroyed, run back for
others or use the catapults to launch into the enemy's fortress.
Groups 3-8: Once groups 1 and 2
are safely on their way to the enemy fortress the remaining groups will
head back to their team's fortress to defend it. Have players in
any of the tower cannons that are able to reach and shoot at enemy
players attacking the gates. Ensure bombs are being disarmed by
players on the ground. As well, attack any vehicles that are near
the fortress. Players can currently shoot right through the gate
without having to teleport to the other side. If there are
vehicles at the gate you can stand inside the fortress and shoot at
them. Vehicles attacking the gates and players dropping bombs are
the first priority. Ensure that your gate is damaged as little as
possible. If groups 1 and 2 are having troubles, send another
group to assist them.
If they haven't already, the enemy team
will likely attack and capture the Docks as there will be nobody
defending them. If they do, your team MUST keep an eye out for
glaive throwers and destroy them immediately. If groups 3-8 are
successful at protecting the gates of your team's Keep and there are not
an overwhelming number of enemies defending their Keep, your team should
be able to breach the enemy fortress and win the battle.
Sample Strategy 3:
Your team should
choose only one gate to destroy so that all of your efforts are focused
on one gate and it takes more damage. If one of the two sets of
groups needs help this should be communicated to your raid group and
assistance should be given where needed.
Groups
1-5: Go to Hangar and capture it.
Wait for the airship to become
available and board it. When the airship nears the enemy Keep all
players will jump off of the airship and into the Keep. Players
will run bombs to the gate while others kill any enemy players
attempting to defend the Keep.
Groups 6-8: Stay back at your base and
defend your team's Keep.
Have players make use of the
turrets to attack any players or vehicles assaulting the gates.
Unless the enemy has breached the Keep and are inside, defending players
should be outside of the gates to attack vehicles and players, and
disarm bombs.
